The Medical Assistant certificate program at Austin Career Institute is designed to help you develop the skills needed to perform many aspects of patient care. Medical assistants serve a vital role on the front lines of healthcare. Key duties can include supporting doctors and nurses, phlebotomy, EKG, documenting patient history and vital signs, processing patient insurance and billing. Medical assistants help physician offices, group medical practices, long-term medical care facilities and many other care communities run smoothly.
Program Options
All options are 36 weeks in length:
One-day per week on-campus
Two-days per week on-campus
Two or three-day per week on-campus night class
According to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics*, job openings for medical assistants are projected to grow 18 percent through 2030 – over twice the projected job growth outlook of 7.7 percent for all occupations total.
