Who We Are

Austin Career Institute was established by Shawn Jamali, a licensed Professional Engineer and Rosha Teimuri, Texas State University Activate Program graduate and computer programmer.

ACI has received numerous recognitions at national and local level for its innovative approach to education and helping Central Texas community.

Our Trade School Mission

Mission Statement
To lift low-income individuals, Veterans, displaced or laid off workers and New Americans into better paying, in demand careers through quality, short-term education while simultaneously filling industry labor shortages, reducing the amount of government dependency, and strengthening the US Economy.

White House Recognizes ACI
ACI was honored to be one of only 4 organizations in the Texas White House delegation, the only organization from Austin, and the only private school in the country picked among thousands of candidates nationwide.

City of Austin Recognizes ACI

Austin Career Institute was honored by the presentation of a proclamation from the City of Austin. In the proclamation certificate Austin Mayor proclaimed December 1st, 2016 as Austin Career Institute Day in Austin.

City of Austin was also presented with a recognition certificate by The White House for its dedication and commitment to the principles of the Building Welcoming Communities Campaign. Texas White House delegates FMUMP and Austin Career Institute made the presentation.

The Forced Migration Upward Mobility Project is pleased to list the Austin Career Institute as a Spotlight of Innovation. The Austin Career Institute’s innovative approach to combining vocational language and literacy simultaneous with hands-on, living-wage, skill training gives newcomers a quick path to living wages.

The Career Colleges & Schools of Texas (CCST) Awards Committee selected Austin Career Institute as 2016 recipient of the Innovator Award. CCST is an association that represents over 200 schools that are a vital part of higher education in the state of Texas.

WFS Partner of the year award

Capital Area Workforce Solution (C2) recognized Austin Career Institute as the partner of the year. This recognition was awarded to ACI for its high level of student outcomes. 2018/2019 TWC Reporting Period: HVAC-R Hybrid 92.5% Graduation Rate & 91.9% Employment Rate, HVAC Hybrid 93.8% Graduation Rate & 91.1% Employment Rate, HVAC-R Traditional 100% Graduation Rate & 100% Employment Rate.
